A postcard is usually a rectangular shaped card that is mailed without being inserted into an envelope. 

While postcards can come in a variety of shapes and sizes, the standard postcard size is 105mm x 148mm, which is the same size as an A6. (quarter of an A4 size).

DL stands for Dimension Lengthwise.  The standard size for DL is 99mm x 210mm which is one third on an A4 size.

DL Stock is often used for envelopes, brochures, flyers, leaflets, cards and invitations. 

DL envelopes are slightly larger at 110mm x 220mm which can then fit a DL flyer inside.

We would recommend using paper from 200gsm upwards.

Postcards Direct have two standard options available - 200gsm and 300gsm, however let us know if you would like something a little different and we can provide you with other options.

Gloss stock has a sheen and reflective appearance.  it can be coated on each side, or one side only.

This finish will produce the most vibrant colour prints.

Silk stocks are considered semi-gloss.  While still shiny and reflective, the lustre is not as high as on a gloss finished stock.

Silk finished stocks are considered to be the middle of the road in terms of colour vibrancy.

Matte finished stocks are without lustre and have a dull coating.

Even though glossy stocks produce the most vibrant colours, matte finished stocks still produce nice, professional quality prints.
